Kenly Corya

Although originally from North Vernon, Indiana, Kenly now calls North Carolina home. After graduating with her BA in English and Comparative Literature from UNC Chapel Hill, she earned her MA in English Studies from ECU. She studied classical voice for 10+ years, and these studies allowed her to travel across the country to perform. Notable performances include Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN and Broadway masterclasses in NYC. She considers her mother to be her first voice teacher, and she recalls many childhood memories listening to her mother (Susan Corya Anderson) and her aunt (Karen Barringer) singing together. As she grew up, she began singing with them during family gatherings, and she cherishes those memories to this day. Kenly considers it an immense joy, honor, and privilege to be able to sing with her aunt and mother on stage with the Moonlight Swing Band.
