Raised on a cotton farm in Lamesa TX, Keith Merrick played trombone and euphonium in high school and was all state baritone/base in Texas’ All-State Choir his senior year.
Keith graduated from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie Band, also known as the Noble Men of Kyle, the Aggie band is the largest, (and he adds, “…undoubtedly the toughest”) outfit in Texas A&M’s famed Corps of Cadets. It’s straight-line marching maneuvers are performed exclusively to traditional marches.
Keith received his MS degree from the University of Missouri, where he sang in a barbershop quartet. His career has been in banking and corporate finance, living mainly in NC with brief stints in Texas and the United Kingdom, and he recently retired as the Chief Financial Officer for S. T. Wooten Company.
He has played trombone and euphonium for many years with Wilson Brass. Keith and his wife, Elaine¸ have two grown daughters, and a son who is a senior at Fike High School, and are members of First United Methodist Church in Wilson where he is a member of the chancel choir.
