Vocalist Jessica Stewart Davis, a native Wilsonian who loves the timeless music of the big band era, has been playing piano and singing for nearly thirty years.
Jessica received a NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship to UNC – Chapel Hill and holds a BA in Middle Grades Education and taught middle school for eight years.
She made her debut as a soloist with the First United Methodist Church at age five and all through school studied piano and voice, singing with various school groups.
She has performed as a soloist for numerous local community fundraisers, for weddings, and community theater where one of her all-time favorites, “1940’s Radio Hour”, featured music of the 1940s.
Jessica loves rock and roll and soul and over the years has performed with the Southern Groove Society, TripleWide, and Black Market Five.
In addition to performing with the Moonlight Swing Band, Jessica currently sings with the Smashed Cardinals, an acoustic group that includes her brother, Steven Stewart, and good friend Dave Ivey.
Jessica is quick to acknowledge those who have taught and encouraged her over the years including Lamar Preston, a local piano teacher; Laura Davenport, choir director at First United Methodist Church; the Moonlight Swing Band’s own Cathy Eatmon who was Jessica’s chorus teacher in middle school; Maggie Cook, her high school choir director; and, her music coach Elizabeth Winstead.
And, of course, her parents. A lovely lady and devoted wife and mom, you will love hearing Jessica perform.
